Word on the Street

On Sunday, September 26, I'll be joining SFU's Writer's Studio Alumni Clarissa P. Green, Sandra Pettman, and Renée Sarojini Saklikar in offering free, 15-minute consults on 2-3 pages of writers' work (as well as answer writing questions) at this year's The Word on the Street National Book and Magazine Festival. Bookings are available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (call 778-782-5093 or register online) at the Blue Pencil Café table, located at SFU's Writing and Publishing Program booth in the Village area of Vancouver's Library Square.

Clarrisa won the 2008 Vancouver International Writers Festival contest for short fiction and her writing explores the impact of time and memory on personal relationships such as mid-life children and aging parents.
Sandra's poetry and creative non-fiction has been published in Room, Contemporary Verse 2, Vancouver Review, Prairie Fire, Grain and she is a member of Thursdays Editing Collective at Carnegie Centre in downtown Vancouver.
Renée writes thecanadaproject--poems and prose about life from India to Canada's West Coast and has published in Vancouver Review, Ryga: A Journal of Provocations, and The Georgia Straight.
